Long pulsed Nd:YAG Laser

A long-pulsed Nd:YAG Vascular Laser is a type of laser used in dermatology to treat a variety of skin conditions, including hair removal, vascular lesions (like spider veins), and pigmented lesions. It is effective for all skin types because its long wavelength (1064 nm)
1064nm allows the laser energy to penetrate the skin's deeper layers while being absorbed less by epidermal melanin, reducing the risk of side effects like blistering and pigmentary changes. The long pulse duration delivers controlled heat, which can coagulate deeper vessels, stimulate collagen, and lead to long-term hair reduction.
HOW IT WORKS
Wavelength: It uses a wavelength of 1064 nm which can penetrate deeper into the skin than other lasers.
Absorption: It is absorbed less by melanin, the pigment in the skin, making it safer for darker skin tones.
Photothermal energy: The laser delivers pulses of energy to the skin, which generates heat to target specific structures like blood vessels without damaging the surrounding tissue.
COMMON USES
Periocular veins
Vascular lesions
Spider veins
Broken capillaries
Deeper vascular lesions such as telangiectasias, hemangiomas and leg veins.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During the procedure: You will wear protective eyewear. The clinician will apply the laser to the treatment area. You may feel a sensation of heat.
After the procedure: You will need to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen. The effects of the treatment are long-lasting, and the absorbed vessels or hair follicles are removed from the body.
Downtime: Most treatments have minimal downtime.
